Ummm. Boston Vin says "Ouch." A little tough to accept my musical hero reveling in my misery Wednesday night as the Sox blew it (a blowing it which they thoroughly deserved, sure enough). I only watched the Boston / Baltimore game and kept tabs on the Yankees / Rays, so I can't speak to the others, but - Jim is right: the way Boston lost and the Rays beat the Yanks, the synchronicity and improbability of it all happening the way that it did, seemed well beyond the random chaos that mortal men manufacture. It truly FELT like the work of some Divine Playwright just fucking with our heads, just a major Act III script-flipping. You want proof there's a God, or Gods? I can't offer you that but, Wednesday night, it felt like something close.

Perhaps this will inspire Jim to finish "Paradise Lost (in the Final at Bat) ?
