Sorry about this. Taken a lot longer than I thought. Not gonna give an exact date (cos I keep missing them) but HONESTLY, you will get a song before end of January.

Very close!

The song 'Dancing With The Joker In The Pale Moonlight' is preceded with my version of 'Come In The Night' (although I would call it 'Let The Revels Begin'). It is to indicate how the Joker and his goons come together each night and get ready to stalk/prowl the streets). It is a complete scene and the songs (almost) blend right into each other. Picture this...

Joker is silhouetted on centre stage holding aloft a skull (think the graveyard scene from Hamlet). To a cathedral organ backing he sings:

'How can I bury the skull of the Batman?
How can I bury Gotham City in fear?
Where you gonna hide my dears, when the Joker comes calling?
Tonight we're gonna have some fun, so why so serious!?'

'Let the revels begin while the night is so young, let the revels begin call my children together...'

The goons then start entering from stage left & right, and sing the lines 'let the revels begin while the night is so young, let the revels begin call HIS children together...'.

Joker needs them, but holds them in contempt, so as each goon reaches out to shake his hand or high five, he gives them the finger, kicks them up the arse, slaps them around the head etc.

The goons (10-12) are now forming up (to attention) on a set of bleachers (so they are elevated), and the Joker has his back to the audience, madly conducting them into position. He sings the last line 'let the revels begin call my pack together now...' and then turning to the audience and indicating with his thumb, says with a sarcastic dismay: 'an I'm the leader of this bloody pack'.

The stage is fairly dark and the goons faces are now artistically illuminated (think Blair Witch project).

As they are all about to leave on a 'mission', Joker shouts: 'Listen up! 5 minutes. Be ready!' He then leaves stage, exiting through a door and slamming it shut.

Stage is then illuminated to reveal the goons are in an abandoned gymnasium, which is acting as their hideout/clubhouse (there is a small bar with beer kegs, a dartboard (with a picture of Batman on it), some grotty sofas, nets are hanging off from the basketball hoops etc).

As per every night they are pissed off with the Joker and sing 'Dancing With The Joker In The Pale Moonlight'. It starts as a lament...'we sold our souls such a long time ago, to a psycho with a slash for a smile...' but becomes more optimistic 'but there's one thing that makes this life so hedonistical...' before moving into an uplifting chorus.

It's actually a comic piece and ends with a topical & pretty funny (to me) coda.

Joker then comes back into the room and says (sinisterly) 'Saddle up boys, lock 'n' load (they all simultaneously cock their pump action shotguns). Looks like it's gonna be another dark one tonight!' They all hysterically laugh and stage goes dark.

Oooooh does anybody ever dream like this anymore????
