I'm a graphic design student, and a graphic designer.
I went for an interview for what would have been a fantastic job in a fantasic big name, international design firm who would have been VERY sympathetic to my uni timetable. Sounded too good to be true...
... but they never got back to me. So I'm doing some other contract work instead. It kills my soul and crushes my spirit. But I DO get to work from home.
Which is actually one of the double edged swords -- cause it's right at my own desk at home that it gets to me. I get kinda insulted by that, where do I go to curl up into a ball and ignore it!?!
