Seriously? It's not too difficult to draw a distinction between Meat's talents as a musician/performer and Meat's views as a political thinker. You can appreciate the former without agreeing with the latter. :-)

I'm a political conservative, so I've gotten used to the idea of my favorite artists having political viewpoints I have trouble sympathizing with. However, I'll agree with you that in some way, expressing political beliefs detracts from the total package a rock star seeks to convey -- at least for those who disagree with the rock star and, maybe, for everyone. There's something just a little too official, responsible, dutiful, and mainstream about most, serious, political questions. It's just not very "rock 'n' roll." For political artists, who make that part of their identity, I'm not opposed to sharing, but I question whether too much politics could hurt Meat Loaf, whose music is political only in a sense that really transcends party affiliations and candidates and all that nonsense... :)

But, well, at least this time, Meat backed the right candidate! :)

Just my 2 cents...
