And I have to wonder the last time any music on Broadway sounded as loud and aggressive as that did, before the production opened, I mean. It probably would have been years. But I love it. And I don't think it needed lyrics or a speech or anything, just the music and the punch line - The "God has left the building" line - was enough for me. It's a bit like the opening for "West Side Story", right? I think that originally had lyrics at one point. Thing is, I love to *hear* it. I love to play the audio. But visually it doesn't live up. I just thought the choreography could have been more exciting and more things could have been happening onstage. | |
