Empty as far as audience goes but you can still see how John Napier's wonderful set and David Hersey's imaginative lighting worked with the various cats. The video experience wasn't terrible. It was okay. But the live show at the New London Theatre was magical and amazing. In my opinion. Some might disagree with me. The same is true for Les Miz. I loved the live version and I worry about seeing the film in case it is disappointing. Some of the reviews have been awful but it is probably more sophisticated than the video of Cats. You are quite right that the DVD for LND is different from Cats the video and Les Miz the film, because, as you say, it captures a live show. I look forward to watching it. From the clips that I have seen, it looks to me like the staging for the Australian LND was/is very impressive. Is the Australian version of LND still running? | |
