Also, "No moon" at the end of Act One. Musically, lyrically and dramatically, in my opinion, it's superb. I love it. "No line where sea meets sky" is one of the lyrics that comes to mind. Then the music that plays after "Dear Mother of God, iceberg right ahead!" It reaches a point where you can actually feel the ship grazing against the iceberg because of the way that the orchestrations have been put together. That's just great. Also, "The blame" is seriously intense. There's this beat that runs through the whole thing and everything comes out from that, all these outbursts. Also I love the counterpoints. The reprise just before "We'll meet tomorrow", the way the counterpoint's constructed, it's so dense and it's all over the shop, that for me it captures the feeling of panic on board that night. Then the way the song comes out of that is just brilliant. They all come together at the end of it. | |
