Well, when it was produced again in Paris, it was the Cameron Mackintosh version re-translated. They actually recorded that too so it would be interesting to hear the differences. I suppose they couldn't have just used the original lyrics in amongst the new ones because they would have had different meanings in places and they wanted a more faithful translation, which is something that Michael Kunze has to bear in mind when he translates famous English shows into German.

If it had been a big success in London and New York, the new American version I mean, then golly gosh... I honestly don't know what would have happened but I'm glad that we didn't have to find out. I suspect that was the cloud with the silver lining for Jim and Michael Kunze.

Nobody seems aware of Tanz in the

It's strange, because wouldn't Tanz get a lot of tourists from all over the world?
