Billy was my favorite before there was Jimmy. Probably the greatest live showman I've ever seen, even in his older age. (I last saw him perform about 5 years ago, I guess.) "Piano Man" was my favorite song for a long time, and that started when I was in 5th grade. Kind of weird, since at the time most of the kids at school were into the Beastie Boys' "License to Ill."

"An Innocent Man" was the album that turned me on to him, but as it turned out most of his best stuff came out before that record.

Like Jim, a once-prolific writer who seems to have just.... stopped....for no apparent reason, leaving fans to wonder WTF?

His lack of new material causes me to lapse and sort of forget about him for long stretches, and then I'll hear something on the radio and be reminded how much I enjoy his music.
