"Objects in the rear view mirror" Piano at 7.13 to 7.15 That little bit, its an epiphany moment for the singer. The acceptance of the lyrics sung already and its time to move on, yet as the end of the song shows he still can't quite let go of the girl. The other moment like that is in "Bat out of hell" at 8.30 to 8.31 Its a exhale of defiance in the final bell toll and those couple of notes on the piano that i hear there. Its the moment of rebirth and redemption and then the lyrics take over again. The solo part from bonnie tyler's version of "Making love out of nothing at all" gets me every time as does the demo version with Rory and Jim The piano on that is thrilling to hear Something about the power of the left hand with that beautiful melody over the top during the solo part has me questioning how such music is possible "For crying out loud".Not enough words to describe that song and what it means to me Jims version of "Rock and roll dreams come through" The full version with the choir reprise sounds as fresh and thrilling now as it did when i first heard it back in 81. And when you hear people talk about songs getting them through bad stuff then "Rock and roll dreams" really was there when i needed help and for that i will have a debt to Jim that can never really be repaid other than to say "Thank you so much Jim" I could go on for an age but the above will do for now | |
