I hope Uncle John isn't his mom's brother, talk about creepy. Anyway I assume this guy isn't a professional reporter since he gets song titles and names wrong plus his writing isn't very focused. Still he went to the show but apparently isn't much of a fan so I am not surprised his take is so negative. Still there are a lot of reports about his voice lately. I am guessing if you're a fan and realize he's a great showman you can overlook some vocal imperfections. Hopefully Uncle John and mom don't do the makeout scene.
