I doubt the AFL made much of a difference. There was no such cock-up in the UK and I think the album sold all of 20 copies over here too, even with a TV advert. I can only assume many fans were put off by Bat 3, and even more by HCTB. It's probably also fair to assume than many of Meat's fans are now dying of old age.
