this reply is woefully out of date BUT someone may find the info useful for next Halloween

I watched 1 episode of a horror/suspense/mystery based TV Anthology show each night spanning the last 60 years...heres a link to my alter egos list and reviews/comments

As for a list of 20 best horror movies heres a list of relatively unknown films which cover a wide range of sub genres - tragedy, comedy, found footage, gore , disturbing, wtf, thriller...

Peeping Tom - old but imho its pretty creepy
A Serbian Film - violent, sick,messed up
The Final - cartoon like classic victims get revenge on their bullies
Let The Right One In - now a modern classic vampire deconstruction
Salo 120 Days Of Sodom - long, old but utterly messed up
Occult: The Unidentified - found footage thing involving suicide bombing, Lovecraftian aliens and the trashiest depiction of hell on screen
Funny Games - excellent psychological horror
Tucker And Dale Vs Evil - just the funniest horror comedy
Pontypool - esoteric zombie movie
Trick R Treat - very nice Halloween anthology thing
----
The Poughkeepsie Tapes - pretty creepy found footage thing
Bloody Reunion - Donnie Darko meets a slasher movie meets Identity
964 Pinnochio - the most energetic wtf movie...ever
Epitaph - asian arthouse horror
Snowtown - utterly brutal real life story of serial killings
Dream Home - very nicely done Chinese/Hong Kong slasher type flick
Magic Magic - nicely done psychological film
Session 9 - creepy film set in an asylum
Absentia - interesting low budget horror
The ABCs Of Death - very mixed bag anthology film showing 1 short film about 5 minutes per letter of the alphabet
