I don't think anyone has necessarily bad intentions over there. Things do need to look a certain way to protect Meat's reputation. Even if that means losing some friends along the way I guess. Meat himself gets/got away with posting insults quite a bit.
I've also noticed this kind of stuff happen with other artists when the original artist is heavily involved in posting comments etc. At a certain stage complete fanatics just take over on proceedings (sorry to be sexist but it does appear to be women in the 3 cases I can think off) and the views of other fans just aren't important and negativity or even realism just gets slammed down completely.
