I'm guessing that, over maybe 4-5 years, no financial backing was found for Jim's 'Neverland' script. Stuart Beattie has then come on board and obviously impressed someone (S2BN Entertainment) with his take.
Beattie has said that he 'did' the musical which suggests that he's finished. Maybe they can't get a Broadway theatre in 2015, hence 2016?
Be interesting to know if Beattie has adapted Jim's 'Neverland' or written something completely different.
