Sadly I have to agree with this. You can't force someone else to be enthusiastic about a project (as much as say trying to get other people to like the same music you like - it simply does not work). If Jim's heart isn't in this project I don't really consider this a collaborative effort at all no matter how good that sounds when announcing the album etc.
