I don't know either Meat or Jim nor would I presume to know what they are thinking. But from all I've read I believe it goes something like this...
Meat got Jim involved in what could be his last album. Jim agreed to give him some songs and Meat pushed for more and some rewrites on some. Jim clearly agreed.
Meat felt that Jim might become much more involved in the project whether through a misunderstanding or just high hopes on Meat's part.
I think Meat made it Meat and Jim presents as a way of trying to make up for Jim being left out of the BAT cover as the Meat and Jim presents was close to one of the titles Jim wanted way back then, equal billing.
Jim has made it very clear that he is totally consumed by his musical which is completely understandable. Hence the fact he was not involved with the BRAVER project.
I think again that Meat went solely with Paul out of loyalty rather than anything else by not inviting Rinkoff in for the final mix.
It is obviously working out as Jim likes the work on WHO NEEDS THE YOUNG sans vocals. Again it shows that Jim is being given the demos for input.
The album was supposed to be out in the spring and is now the fall. I think this was because it was delayed maybe and I say only maybe to give Jim more time for his input and maybe some hands on production.
Since he broke his leg and is laid up that won't happen very easily if at all.
Which is why I think Meat is moving forward again as he is working on a clock that is running down.
I truly hope that Meat and Jim have nothing but the greatest success for their projects as they both deserve it,
