A heads up (literally) that the UK sees a partial eclipse next Friday (20th March) at approx 9:30am. I've been asked by the BBC to fly a weather balloon during the eclipse, to send down photos from above the clouds (there are sure to be clouds - this is the UK) which will then be shown on live TV. They'll also show a recording of the launch (the launch is at 8am and the TV show is on BBC1 from 9am to 10am). There's a second show in the evening (BBC2, 9pm-10pm) where, we hope, they will show video from the flight.
By my reckoning this will conclude my 15 minutes of fame, so I shall soon be able to retire :-)
