Also, Karines version doesn't sound like a broadway song, more like a pop song, mostly due to the fact that it's pretty bland synth.
Using e-guitar, bass and real drums does make a difference. Just compare the horrible bland "Crazy" by some dude to the far superior version by Within Temptation. Course it also helped that Sharon has a good voice. Which might be a problem for the upcoming Braver version...
