Hey that's a good point.

There's no doubt in my mind that they gave Jim an out of court settlement he couldn't refuse because meat needed the name Bat 3. Like, NEEDED it. Obviously he'd already signed on the dotted line promising there'd be one -- which in itself is highly foolish given he didn't own the copyright! :-).

But it hadn't fully occured to me that the record label itself would feel somewhat less than impressed by Meat's antics in suing Jim just to get the name, such that he can release the "Desmond Sessions" under a contractually-fulfilling name.

If I was head honcho record exec and had just signed a deal half-ensuring another IDAFL, and instead got the pissweak covers of Coming Back to Me Now and Bad for Good, i'd be a little pissed off!

Perhaps the fact that the record Execs and Meat Loaf had done all of this in Jim's 'absence' (for he had obviously not signed anything obliging him to do shit) was one of the factors that turned Jim off the whole idea?
