I dont know about the other stuff, but in terms of William Blake, he said in this http://www.jimsteinman.com/00classicr1.htm 2000 interveiw: ""I never really saw classical music and rock 'n' roll as different. I still don't,I grew up liking extremes in music - big gothic textures. I never have much regard for more subtle stuff. Dire Straits may be good, but it just doesn't do it for me. I was attracted to William Blake, Hieronymus Bosch, I couldn't see the point in writing songs about ordinary, real-life stuff."

I think he may have started being interested in William Blake from his serial killer obsession, as he has previously said he had a Hannibal Lecter phase, and a novel which features Lecter, also surrounds William Blakes "the great red dragon and the woman clothed in the sun". https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d3/Reddragon.jpg/464px-Reddragon.jpg
i think he either got into William Blake from Thomas Harris' novel Red dragon, or maybe the other way around? or maybe its just a coincidence that he read Red Dragon and likes William Blake. In terms of the Marriage of Heaven and Hell, when I read it I thought, yes there is definitely something Steinmanesque about it, especialy this quote “The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.” doesn't that sound like something the self proclaimed lord of excess would say himself? :)
