| Hearing "I'd Do Anything For Love" was the conception, buying Bat 2 was the birth, completing the Meat Loaf catalog was the baptism, and buying Bad For Good was confirmation. Back in 1994-1995 I was active on the Prodigy bulletin boards and posted a question on some discussion group about liking Meat Loaf and noticing that the songs I liked most were written by Jim Steinman and who is this guy and how can I find out more. Someone pointed me to Bad For God, which I promptly acquired and it was off to the races from there: Bonnie, Air Supply, Fire Inc. and the infamous Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young toilet story, etc. I have a faint recollection of hearing Total Eclipse on the way to school (1985 or 1986) and loving it, so you could say that was the gleam in my eye. Back in the 90s, Pandora's Box was extremely hard to find. I spent $30 to have it "imported" to a local record shoppe. During that time I also met some great people because of Steinmania: Moco, Mike Dube, Ron Birnbaum, Marklbetya, and a host of others online. It's a great scene. > I am a Steinmaniac since 1988 and you? | |
