It was all over the radio that Christmas, I remember it distinctly)... Bat 2... Then Bat 1, Bad For Good (on a tape in a second hand record shop from which I also got Faster... and Pandora's Box!)... then following the thread really - Dead Ringer, Forbidden Dreams (which I couldn't find anywhere except through a local library... and then I somehow 'lost' their copy and had to pay for it ;-)... 1996 was a major step forward as it was the first time we got the internet at school. Dream Pollution was the very first website I ever visited and was a treasure trove of information about all of the Steinman-related albums I hadn't heard of. One of my favourite Steinman discovery moments was listening to Kyle Gordon's A Kiss for the first time (courtesy of Ed, I believe - thanks Ed!) I couldn't believe how amazing the vocals were. Took me years, but I finally managed to track him down and get in contact with him. Good times! | |
