This came to mind the other day for no particular reason. I recall reading a review in the early 80s (probably right after BFG came out, or several years later when I found a contemporary magazine review) comparing the official BFG release with an edited, promo version of the album that still had most of the songs on it. I do not remember what was left off the promo disc-- probably The Storm and Love & Death, but R&R Dreams might have been included. The reviewer commented something like, "Why make a special promo LP that has all the same songs?"
I have never run across the promo version. Has anyone here found one, or even heard of it?
