| I always thought that "Objects" could have been a more successful single if they'd cut out more of the repetitive choruses and left in more of the haunting verses. When you've only got 4 - 5 minutes, I figure you want to try to expose people to as many of the different aspects of the song as you can. > The hideous 4 something minute edits of Bat out of Hell! > > > I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that Jim was the > > frequent victim of merciless editing when his frequently > > long songs were sliced & diced to fit a 7 inch single. > > Just off the top of my head, I can think of several > > examples: > > > > "For Crying Out Loud" was reduced to its middle 1/3. > > > > "Dance In My Pants" was not only shortened, but also > > remixed with a new horn section and short guitar solo > > before Jim doesn't want to be rescued. > > > > "Rebel Without A Clue" was chopped (about in half, I > > think) and given a repeating chorus to fade out. > > > > "Nowhere Fast" (Meat's version) had something done to it > > too, but it's been so long since I've listened to it, I > > don't remember what it was. > > > > And I won't even go into the dozen or so different edits > > and remixes of "Anything For Love" (and other Back Into > > Hell singles) that are out there.
