The comments I've read here about Braver do seem like a sack of shit indeed.
Reading Jim's FB he seems to be mostly behind the album and 100% behind some of the songs you call rejects. I doubt Jim thinks of his old songs like that.

He wrote Going All the Way / Braver is one of his proudest achievements along with a new Bridge on Speaking in Tongues.

I can't wait to hear these in full.

I'm glad Meat and Jim have found the path back to work together. Meat did do some great songs here and there and Jim some memorable bits in musicals and great Bonnie songs. But to me they just never did their best stuff without each other in my opinion.

Still hoping for a few more gems from them working together at this late stage beyond what we now know we are going to get. Think Vespers / Graveyard Shift and Body really need that Jim & Meat touch.

Sack of shit to some but to me it ranks as the best recorded music one can pretty much get.
