Good evening all,

I feel compelled to post after hearing the samples. First of all, I was shocked by Meat’s voice because I hadn’t heard it since Bat 3, but I think I’ve grown to like it already. It's not what it used to be, but what is in rock 'n' roll?

'Going All the Way is Just the Start' sounds so promising – can't wait to hear the full version. Love Karla's phrasing on "heart".

I’m kind of shocked by 'Speaking in Tongues' – it sounds almost like a gospel song, gone is the '50s feel. I think I love it, though. and can't wait to hear the bridge. I wonder if there are any other new lyrics scattered throughout the album.

'Loving You's a Dirty Job but Somebody’s Gotta Do It' also surprised me. It doesn't have the texture of the Secret Dreams version (the BVs are missing Jim and Todd's magic touch on all the samples, I think), but sounds great to me, nonetheless – nice guitars. Relatedly, the production, on the whole, seems sparse by Jim and Meat's usual Spectorial standards, but I like that sometimes. 'Who Needs The Young' is such a statement piece to open the album with.

Wasn't 'Souvenirs' written as a duet? Can't figure those lyrics out… will have to read them more thoroughly. It sounds unfocused as fuck out of the context of a musical, but still cool. The rest hasn't sunken in yet.

Anyway, it does remind me why I love Steinman and Meat Loaf – it's all about the records to me, they’re what I hold sacred. I feel like the whole album sounds kind of fuckin' brilliant?

Congratulations to everyone involved!
