Hey All,

Spent about a week with the album, let it grow and mature and now are ready to put up the review:

First of all, obviously Meat's voice today is not what it was 20 years ago. We all acknowledge that - but, I take Jim's view - that he is now an heroic baritone. No one sounds the same at 70 and I think it actually gives the album some heft. I look at it as an older album, and dare I say, the real Bat III. If you put it in that context, the questioning of things - relationships, etc - the album has some real guts.

In addition, this is the most "theatrical" I have heard Meat sing in a long time. Again, maybe that is because of vocal limitations - either way - that creates a version and an environment to the album.

Finally, the background and supporting vocals create a more "conversational" atmosphere that I really love.

WNTY: I have always loved this song and Meat's raw voice in the beginning really creates a feel of almost a "bitter" old man. Love it

GATW: I like the order of these 2 together - this is almost the reflection after the bitterness of WNTY. Separately Ellen and Karla - magical.

Speaking In Tongues: Heard this at the first OTT with Rob Evan. This version has grown on me over time and like the new bridge. Still waver whether I like the backing vocals or not

LYADJ: Is Bonnie's version better or just different? Not sure - either way - love the song - so the more versions the better

Souvenirs: I will probably be blasted for this, but I love this song. I know it is old, I know it has retreads of LITD - but, love it. If you can seperate the retread aspect and hold it alone - it is everything Steinman is: clever lyrics, angst, power piano, duet, amazing bridge - what else do you need?

Only When I Feel: Love this also, but wish it was connected to Break It

More: Power, power, power - need to some rock and roll - you got it

g-dz: Very, very theatrical - again - a nice touch towards the end. One of my least favorite songs on the album - but, still great.

Train: A straight forward rock song - like it. It does remind me of some of the rock songs on CHSIB.

Overall, a very good album - and dare I say - the ending of the trilogy.

Now I have to figure out how to get to London for Bat.
