I always figured if the musical were to be legitimized in an alternate format, it might become a comicbook, with the lyrics becoming the dialogue, highlighted by musical notes in the deadspace of the word balloons, similar to how Mad Magazine used to satirize musicals (or make follies out of current issues).
Also, I was hoping I would get to write it.
