I saw an interview with Meat about Braver Than We Are in which he talks about the rivalry between Ellen and Karla-- one sang on the album, the other sang on tour & video, each thought the other was getting all the credit, but until recording Going All The Way, they had never met.
Meat goes on to say he set them up to meet at their hotel the night before and they went on to become best friends.
I just ran across this photo of Karla and Ellen together with Wreckless Eric, taken about 1981.
