Some memories

* The first time I heard the full album version of "Anything for Love", which was my favourite song only then it was just five minutes long. Unbelievable.

* Realizing how great "For Crying Out Loud" was on the first "Bat".

* hearing "The Storm" and "Bad for Good" for the first time and wanting to hear the rest of the album. I absolutely love the way "The Storm" was reused as the Overture to "Tanz".

* unexpectedly falling in love with the song "Everything is Permitted" from "Dead Ringer".

* the first time I heard "It's All Coming Back", and never wanting that song to ever end. Again, unbelievable. And then realizing it was the same person who wrote it, because of course it was.

* hearing "Tonight is What it Means to be Young" from "Streets of Fire", I can't even describe that. And then it gets made over as the finale for "Tanz" as well.

* who remembers the first time they heard Pandora's Box "Original Sin" the title song? My reaction was: holy cow. It went off so much more than the Meat Loaf one ever did.

* finding the cast album of "Whistle down the Wind" which wasn't cheap! And being so excited about listening to it. "A Kiss..." is an amazing song.

* the original cast album of "Tanz", which to me is like the ultimate showdown with Jim's music.

* When Jim posted the demos for the "Batman" musical, and me cracking it over Jim not writing all of the songs for "Bat 3".

* "A Good Nightmare Comes so Rarely" in "Dance of the Vampires", which is such an awesome, awesome little song.

* the announcement of "Braver Than We Are"

* every time I got a response from Jim himself, and Jim saying "hi Ryan" haha when he posted Joker's Song on his blog.

* long threads with everyone here

* always wondering if the record companies were eventually going to put something out for an anniversary.

* Reading the script for "Bat out of Hell 2100", which I should have come here and reviewed, but I thought everyone had moved over to social media now.

* THE FRIENDSHIPS I have formed here, as a result of everyone listening to something of Jim's for that first time. He's not only given us his work, but that too.

I think his music will live forever.
