Bat from what I remember Jim saying in that interview started off as a new version of Jailhouse Rock that Meat and Jim were doing. By the way, Meat mentioned on MLUKFC an early song of Jim's they used to rehearse as well, called "Just Following Orders" but it's never come forward, unlike say "Souvenirs" and "Train of Love" which Meat ended up recording on "Braver".

The drum beat in "You Took the Words" reminds me of the Ronettes "Be my Baby", and Billy Joel uses that as well in "Say Goodbye to Hollywood".
