| I always *knew* the day would come. That the man who along with Mr Steinman cemented my love for rock n roll would pass. I always wondered how I would feel. I invariably listen to a Meat daily - I have been to every concert I could. These are highlights; joyous memories. For me, Meat is the measuring stick to which all other musical acts are held. Few have met muster. However, I am fine, happy, mostly unaffected. My only sadness is a selfish feeling that there will not be any "more" Meat stuff. As much as I love Meat as a performer, as much as I feel we may have got along in real life, my reality is that I do not know Meat the person and his passing has not brought about emotional strain for me. I empathise with his family and friends. I know this will be a hard time for all. I know that all of his fans will take the news of his passing differently. I am not telling anyone how to feel. I am an imperfect religious man and pray that his soul has found its way to God. But now, now it's time for Bat out of Hell | |
