| You're right. He's alive lol It was his collaborator Howard Ashman that died after "Beauty and The Beast" and halfway through "Aladdin". "Lion King" was a collaboration between Elton John and Tim Rice of "Jesus Christ Superstar" fame. They later collaborated again during "Aida". The big musical trend these days seems to take iconic Rock groups and turn their songs into a musical. For example, ABBA's "Mama Mia", Billy Joel's "Movin' Out", and Queen's "We Will Rock You".
