It is not the only song that references drums, however. On the albums "Bad For Good" and BOOH2, there are each two different songs with lyrics that reference drums, and one song in common between them. Without the math, that's three songs. The quote on this thread of course comes from "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)", and the two others are "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" with its line "Let the drummer tell your heart what to do", and the other is "Dance In My Pants" with the line "There's a drummer going at it way down in the core of my soul." A fourth song comes about on the RR chapter "Other Children" referencing the website, titles, "Loving You's A Dirty Job But Somebody Has To Do It" with the lines "There were times when we heard all the answers/ In the beating of the drummer and the riches of the rock and the roll" A fifth with the common song recorded by Air Supply, "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" with the line "The beating of my heart is a drum and it's lost" And this, for the quizical types figures to two songs on portion of his catalogue. For a sixth, on "Streets Of Fire" there's the song "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" with the line "And the thunder of a drum in his ears" It seems to me that Jim has drums more than drugs on his mind. | |
