I just read a quote from the team's coach where she actually used the word "ordeal" to describe the situation.

Please.

If Imus were talking about a UCLA volleyball team and described them as "bleach-blonde bimbos," nobody would care, except maybe the team themselves (if it even exists; I'm being hypothetical here), and even then, nobody else would care that they cared.
