Diamond is one of the music institutions, to the extent there is one, but his success on the commercial level has fallen off greatly since the early 1970's. The sentimental value and the timelessness of his music follows his shows wherever he performs, and he is always highly, that way, in demand. He might be one of the biggest sellers still, but not in the records, at least up to this point.
