I don't know if this will be of interest to folks or not, but I thought it might be. It's a Frank Rich 'conversation' with Sondheim, with an infinitely interesting series of perspectives as to the evolution/demise of the Broadway musical form, a part of the devolution of which to mere annual tourist spectacle and empty ritual is of course attributable to the ascendancy of Rock. Given Steinman's roots in both rock and and theater, I thought it might be interest. Viewing requires a paid subscription to the Times, but it's possible to simply take the 14-day free trial and give it a look.
