I listened the first, and thought to myself, that's the way he sounded when I saw the show at Monmouth College in 1979....then I listened to the second, and when I was at the show, this piano feature was performed, and I was recalling when I heard it there, and then, at the very end, Meat Loaf says, his road manager's birthday is that day....and so it was too at the show I was at. So, is this the same day on the different year, or is this show pretending to be from th e Agora Ballroom? Jim was not expected to perform in the show by all reports I heard before I took my seat there....someone I went with to the show stood around me and kept saying that Jim was not going to be there...then the same person corrected themselves when they saw him and pointed him out to me...."I thought he left the tour, but I guess he didn't". On the Rockpalast interview, Meat and Jim are clear in saying that Jim was to leave the tour in the summer of 1978, and so it might be that Jim left the tour and returned, to do the Monmouth show. The person is someone who was later revealed to have known someone who knew Jim at the time and also surreptitiously orchestrated for me to be introduced to some of Jim's acquaintances in Los Angeles when I moved west in 1982. Who knows what about the stream of transit and labeling for this recording? | |
