I don't think anyone in their right mind could logically argue that Meat 30 years ago and Meat now is expected to have the same voice. I think the point some people are trying make is that Meats voice NOW, irrespective of what it was 30 years ago, isn't that great live.

That doen't mean it still wasn't a great show with the band, the lights, the pyrotechnics and gizmo's happening, plus the people you are with, alcohol etc etc etc. The concert has to be taken as a whole.

If I went to a Meat Loaf show purely based on his voice, then I wouldn't go, end of story. Saying that, if I knew his voice was totally knackered, despite what else might be happening, then I still probably wouldn't go.
