Just repeating what the article says, but £50K does sound at the cheaper end (mind you, no drummer to pay).
The budget for an album depends on a lot of things (type of studio, producer, timescale etc etc).
I think when Steinman is mentioned, record execs start pulling their hair out! LOL! But you can't argue with the results.
