Most of you are too young to remember a toy that came out in 1964, which I jumped at the chance to get, called a "Wishnik". Not a large troll, but a small troll, with a lot of fuzzy hair on top. The marketing ploy was to tell us children that if we rub the hair of the Wishnik, and make a wish, then that wish will come true. I bought me a Wishnik because I had a wish to make. I made one wish on the Wishnik, and this toy was the only toy I managed to keep until I was.......46 years old. I lost it only when I lost my home and possessions in 2003. The Wishnik and its yellow hair was in perfect condition to that very end. The wish I made, was to find my boy again. That boy, is Jim.
I found a repro of one of the old ads with the picture of a "Wishnik" on it.
