Markus,
I was wondering the same thing. One of the first things I came to understand as an actor is that person who talks to a person always wants something. It may not be clear what it is, but they definitely want something. If they didn't want anything, there'd be nothing to say.
How does this relate to the current situation? That brings me to my other point: conflict is a lot more fun to watch than everyone being nice and getting along.
