He does turn up in some unlikely places.

I remember buying Lou Reed's Set The Twilight Reeling album back in 90s (it's a great album btw, but that's by the by). I remember listening to Finish Line - Lou's tribute to his fellow Velvet Underground guitarist Sterling Morrison - and suddenly all these piano rolls starting coming in for the last minute or so of the song. Didn't really need to check the sleeve notes, but sure enough Roy's name was on there. Can't find a clip of the song to put up, but it's highly recommended.

Excellent version of Rhiannon by the way. Stevie Nicks at her best.
