As simplistic a source as this may be, where is it known to the contrary? > 3) Do we know how this line made it's way to an own > song/why and how Jim chose this line as Title of THE > song. MeSupposes that it is Jim's way of expressing that he has his moral limits to what he is willing to do towards reaching a goal, or in conformance with a particular tide in the influencing society. This topic is an old one between ourselves. And, depending upon the context, Jim always has his "line in the sand". THE song, is THE concept. Hence, it was appropriate to title it with its salient point. > > 4) IF(!!) somebody else wrote that line, and not Jim, > wouldnt he have to credit that person in the Bat2 > booklet? He would only have to credit a participating songwriter if the writer intended in participating with the song writing, and it they did not relinquish credit as a right or if the songwriter chose to give credit. If someone in a train station napping before the train utters a phrase in their sleep, and a songwriter hears it, the songwriter could take that phrase and write it into a song, take the full credit, because the credit is not in the coining of the phrase, but in the writing of the song. | |
