I never heard of him doing that song, but today I found a clue that he might have.
I found an entry called Meat Loaf - Total eclipse of the heart on a dutch song-lyric site.
Thats no proof, of course, but did anybody know anything about this?
As everybody can enter song lyrics on that site, it doesnt have to have any reason, but who knows?
