Have you ever been socially isolated by your mother? Have you been forbidden from sleeping in your own bed only then to receive death threat from your forced bed-mate? Have you been taken out of school recess and kept alone from the other children as a matter of daily policy? Have you been prohibited to read the advanced books with the advanced readers while in first grade? Have you been told lies about every detail of your life, only to discover the truth later on? Have you been able to make your choices and make your paths, and pride yourself with your achievements, only to be taken away from your achievements by incessant frauds? Have boys approached you and said they liked you because someone paid them to?
When I count my blessings, I count my ability to see through those things above that I experienced before I was sixteen. As for age, I am old enough to be your mother.
