Ray Fox seems to be a grumpy old man about his contribution to The Future and if he isn't then there's some grumpy fans who are hanging on every single word Ray is saying because he's shown them a bit of attention.
Who's to say that Jim didn't write most of New Orleans Is Comin' To Me himself and thought 'fuck it, I'll give Ray the lyrical credits'?
Like I said earlier, I can see how Ray would be pissed that Jim recycled the tune from a mediocre song from a mediocre musical that he had an hand in and turned it into something fantastic like 'The Future...'
We could also argue about Michael Kunze's contribution lyrically to songs like Braver or Seize The Night that has music and lyrics credited to Jim Steinman.
