The musical was called "Souvenirs", according to Michael Weller, but Meat Loaf auditioned and Jim was so impressed he had him write in a part and a song. I have no idea how long it existed before that... On the subject of homosexuality and Steinman, I think "Not Allowed To Love" fits that in some ways. It certainly would be another anthem, like "No Matter Boy"-Boyzone, if it got out there. Karine Hannah's dance mix version of the song shows the possibility even more. | |
