Wait... Legrand is an absolute fave composer of mine--he did Parapouilles de Cherbourg, Amour, Peau D'ane, Windmills of Your Mind... but not Notre Dame... Is that who Black is working with? Could be interesting at least

Thanks for the info--I'll have to track down the article on the song being withdrawn--I always wondered why, aside from covers, Stienman never did another original piece with Celine (well piece of his own...)I did find her recording of the song on Pudding's blog though and love it.

Maybe Steinman just wanted a break from writing lyrics? :P Still there does seem like there must be more to the story. I don't have all my facts on DOTV but didn't Black help with some of the lyrics there?

I agree with you that the Titanic thing is farfetched (and why would Black be involved regardless?). Horner has done closing title songs for his scores before (off the top of my head there's the rather beautiful If We Go On Together theme from Land Before Time which has similarly obscure and clumsy lyrics by Will Jennings to his Heart Will Go On lyrics...) Still it's an interesting element to the story
